I have had some fun past couple days. The day after the American breakfast I didn't do very much. I went to the mensa with Villius and Kostas, my Greek friends. Afterwords I went back to my place and did research on going on a vacation to Barcelona. Jess, Amy, & I were going to go next weekend. I found some really cheap flights....but then the prices went up by the time we could all book it. :( So now we are going to in April. Next weekend we are going to go on a vacation though somewhere in Italy. We are going to look up one of the cheapest best places to go on the train and then go there. :) Yay adventures! After I did my research I went to a Japanese restaurant with Ali for dinner. I ordered "Chinese lemon chicken." It was good but not what I was expecting at all. I thought it was going to be like battered fried chicken in a lemon sauce but instead it was grilled chicken with a very liquidy lemon sauce with several lemon slices. ( I think the lemons were meant to be eaten because people do that in Italy.) I also had edamame.....mmmmm. It was really nice to go somewhere that wasn't Italian. I really miss variety! After dinner with Ali we went to the grocery store where I found peanut butter! Yuuuum. And I bought jelly as well. The only normal size bread they have though is called American bread. hahaha. And it is just like wonderbread....gross. After the grocery store I went to meet Villius, Kostas, Jess & Amy at the exchange student event. I met a lot of really nice people there. I met a girl from England who said she is going on a trip to Palermo at the end of the month and she invited me to go. I think I will probably go if possible!
Yesterday I attempted to go to another class. I was trying to go to English Literature. Little did I know is that my class is in different classrooms on different days. I went into my classroom and was sitting there waiting for the teacher to come. The classrooms are very old as I have class in the main university that was built in the 1300s, therefore the structure is very strange. The classroom is set up kind of like bleachers but they reminded me of pews at the same time. I sat in the middle of the pew so it was impossible to go anywhere. The teacher entered the classroom and began speaking in Italian. I thought to myself, ok so maybe she is just starting the class in Italian and then when starts the actual lesson she will switch to English. The teacher then begins the lesson....in Spanish! And then she starts writing on the board Spanish articles for words. And then I was thinking to myself Oh God....what am I going to do? I am sitting in the middle of the classroom and I can't move but I am in the wrong class. I am in Spanish being taught in Italian! I ended up having not only to stay but taking notes as well because I couldn't look like I didn't care and risk being called on! And then she called someone to go write and the board and I was just thinking Oh God Oh God Oh God, PLEEEEEASE don't be me! Luckily it wasn't. Finally my class ended and I was free! Yesterday I was also supposed to watch a movie with my friends for our cinema class but it took forever to download so we ended up not watching it. Today Jess & I went to go get our bus passes together. Afterwords we went shopping at the market they have everyday. I got a really nice pair of leather boots for 5 euros! Yay!!! I love deals. Afterword we went to the piadineria and I introduced Piero, Giada, and Vale to her. I want Jess and Piero to date. :) They both are searching for boyfriends/girlfriends! So....that would be cool! Then after the piadineria Jess and I went to my favorite park and just hung out. Amy met us there. We hung out at the park for about 2 hours. Tonight Jess, Amy, Karolina, Paulina, Kostas, Villius, and I are going to go out. First we are going to a 90's party at a bar called Raise. Afterwords we are going to Nirvana where Ali and Piero are going to meet us. Anyways, I am looking forward to a good night!
